|He sits at the right hand of the Father|
My Lord keeps a record of each moment I’m living down here. He knows all about me, all my troubles, my sorrows, my fears. I’m living each moment through the mercy of God’s loving grace, some day he will call me, to that wonderful, beautiful, marvelous place.
I am sure you recognize the lyrics of this song. I had not thought of this song in years, but all of sudden it came to my mind as I started this post. He knows all about us, he understands us, and he know where we need to improve. He gives us all things possible to help love, grace, the Word, blessings, prayer, faith, and much more. He even tells us how to pray, when we need to pray, (keep a prayer on our lips and in our hearts), and what is acceptable and what is not.
He knows all things, those things that are good and profitable, but also those things that we lack in wisdom and understanding. It is often hard for us to mention that we are lacking in anything, (most of us), however as humans, and Christians we know that we must grow in the knowledge and wisdom of Christ every day.
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” James 1:5
Good intensions can still lend to misunderstanding, and often the loss of forgiveness. Most of the time, other people do not see us, as we see ourselves. Very often, the people we think know us the best are lacking in understanding.
“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord ponereth the hearts.” Proverbs 21:2
We can think we are doing most things right in our life, (no intentional sin that we know of), and still be lacking one thing. We could be lacking discipline, understanding of the word, and often just are not as routed, or grounded in love, and the Word of God as we need to be.
The above is a very clear stance of how Satan wants us to look and judge others. We are not walking in all the light, which we know or see when we allow the carnal to overtake the spiritual. That finger is pointed right at me! We must admit we often see the carnal instead of the spiritual side of the equation.
The Other Side of the Coin
There are two sides to the coin, always. With each situation in life, there is the right and the wrong stance. There is the pure and the just, the good and the bad, and the sometimes third side, the neutral. Are we supposed to be neutral? It is my understanding that we should be:
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8
Love that scripture.
Why is it hard sometimes to face the truth when it hits us? It is often hard to hear the truth, and it is harder to admit it.
I think we should sing the chorus again, of My Lord Keeps a Record, or are we just going to silently ask the Lord’s forgiveness and go on. The latter is usually what we do.
I am trying very hard to look at myself. No it is not easy to say, Lord I know I am lacking, but "HE" knows it anyway! I know I have weaknesses, I am working on them every day, and I will continue to do so. I must admit that I have faults that need to be conquered, and try to make those turn into something more valuable and wash them out of "Jesus Records." It takes work, a steady prayer life, and a lot of concentration.
"Lord help me to turn my weakest link into that which is pleasing to you. Lord show me what I might be overlooking, and let me make things right."
Some individuals want to say; well what is right for you might not be what is right for me. Hold on please…. If we call ourselves a Christian and a servant of the Lord, we cannot have that conversation. We must live according to the word. There is no in-between.
Post continues....here is part 2
Lovingly and partners in Christ,
